These are the leaders who are unable to digest the fame which follows the success and just forget that the success is a result of collective team work and sitting in their ivory tower thinks that it's their own capabilities and Leadership style which is bringing the fruits of success. The "Icarus Syndrome" is quite famous in the Corporate lingo as the Corporate world has witnessed many examples of that. This tale is also the origin of the idiom 'Don't fly too close to the Sun'. However, as the tale goes, Icarus became too excited by the flight and flew too near to the Sun. Neither to be too exalted by the power nor to be lackadaisical due to power. Metaphorically he suggested neither to get caught by hubris nor by the complacency. Before starting the flight Daedalus warned his son neither to fly too high near the sun as the wax would melt and nor too near the sea as the wings would dampen. To escape the prison Daedalus created the two sets of wings made of Wax & Feather for himself and his son. However, due to some mistake from his side King Minos imprisoned Daedalus himself in the labyrinth along with his son Icarus. Icarus was the son of famous craftsman Daedalus who created Labyrinth for King Minos of Crete to imprison a monster. The story of Icarus comes from Greek mythology.
